Resistant Starch. You can create resistant starch Resistant Starch.
You can create resistant starch by freezing your bread.
Resistant starch acts like fiber and isn’t digested, causing less impact to blood sugar and drastically reduces the post meal blood sugar spike.
Creating resistant starch can help you manage blood sugars easier in food that might usually give you a hard time.
So if you have been avoiding regular, carb filled bread, because it reeks havoc on your child’s blood sugar....give this a try!
Gonna give this a try? Save for later and lemme know how it goes!

It’s 8:00 at night and their blood sugar is head It’s 8:00 at night and their blood sugar is headed in a downward direction.
Not straight down, but slowly on its way down.
Here are a few ideas you can give them to get ahead of that drop with items that won’t:
1. Spike them then drop them again
And
2. Won’t have you chasing the high all night
Have some more ideas? Share them in the comments for all the Mommas.
And write these on your grocery list (in your planner 😉😉) for your next trip to the store!

‼️T1D Moms… Quit Today‼️ I understand t ‼️T1D Moms… Quit Today‼️
I understand the overwhelm raising a Type 1 Diabetic brings. I lived in constant defeat for an entire year after my son was diagnosed.
I watched others living their best life, as if diabetes didn’t have a hold on their lives.
And I thought, “When will that be me?”
Here is me telling you…
You can quit holding onto these.
1. Quit thinking you’re doing it wrong
[You WILL get there. It takes time. It take experience. You are learning things of many professions that go to college to get degrees in!!]
2. Quit believing you could have done something different to prevent this.
[We’ve all thought this and this is not on you. Release this grief and look to something good. For me, that is the bond my son and I have, that without diabetes, I’m not sure we would have formed]
3. Quit worrying about blood sugars all the time
[Blood sugars are important - life and death in fact, but that doesn’t mean you can’t think of other things besides blood sugars. Your child is still a kid; a person…and there is more to them than a couple hours (or a bad day of blood sugars) in a lifetime of many blood sugars.]
4. Quit comparing where you’re at to those who’ve been living it much longer than you.
[We all gotta start somewhere and looking to others is excellent, but we all have to walk before we run]
5. Quit wondering how they (your child) will do this for the rest of their life.
[You are raising a strong, resilient and driven person. You are teaching them everything they will need. YOU are showing them how to make their health a priority and still be them. Keep this in mind as you quit #6!]
6. Quit forgetting about yourself and your needs.
[Don’t get so consumed with diabetes that you forget about you. Even if you think there’s no room for you, it’s important you make you a priority too]
If you’re struggling and want to chat, reach out!
🥂to quitting!

🍕Pizza without the delayed fat rise and frustra 🍕Pizza without the delayed fat rise and frustrating carb count scenarios?🍕
YES PLEASE!!!
This was an easy and quick main meal idea. Could even be a snack!
A few tips:
❗️I tried these both ways - oven and air fryer. They are definitely doable in the oven, but way better in the air fryer!
❗️They work best with the Carb Balance tortillas. I love the Tumaros brand, but they just didn’t work in this recipe. However, the carb balance tortillas have 15g of Fiber which is awesome and kind of overrides the higher carb count.
❗️Hit up Amazon for silicone cupcake cups, the individual ones - they are great for this!
So simple, I wouldn’t even call it a recipe, but here it is:
🔵 1 tortilla, cut into 4 triangles
🔵 2-4 tsp pizza sauce (1/2 - 1 tsp in each cup)
🔵 Favorite pizza toppings
🔵 2-6 tsp shredded cheese
➡️ Spray muffin tin or silicone liners with cooking spray
➡️ Press cut tortilla into the bottom and up the sides.
➡️ Spoon in sauce & toppings and sprinkle with cheese
➡️ Spray tops of/edges of tortilla with a little cooking spray (or brush with melted butter if you’d prefer)
🍕Airfry on 360 for 3-4 minutes
Or
🍕Cook in 375 degree oven for 10-12 minutes
*the oven method doesn’t get as crispy and the sauce gets a little watery
🔎 4 pizza cups ~ 19g carbs *I don’t count the sauce because it’s such a small amount.
These are PERFECT FOR KIDS and won’t wreck blood sugar!
Save for later so you can grab the super simple ingredients on the next grocery trip.
